And I know that — because it happened to me too.
I mega burnt out about four years ago. And then one day I just crashed.
One moment I was crying. The next I was fine. Night sweats, hot flushes, mood swings — my family was getting the brunt of all of it and I had absolutely no idea why.
I went to see my GP. Got referred to a psychiatrist. Did the blood tests. Everything came back fine. Got told it was depression, started taking antidepressants, and carried on — confused, exhausted, and honestly a little lost.
Then one day I was talking to a friend who's a menopause advocate. I was telling her everything that had been going on and she stopped me and said — "that happened to me too. I'm not on antidepressants anymore. Just estrogen. Go and see this doctor. Everything you're describing is perimenopause."
That was the moment everything clicked.
Three years of being told I was fine. Three years of antidepressants. And the answer was perimenopause.
So I built Periplexed. Because nobody should spend three years wondering what on earth is going on with their own body.

Every woman deserves an explanation.
Not "it's just stress." Not "it's your age." Not "everything looks normal."
A real explanation — of what's happening in her body, and what she can do about it.
That's why Periplexed exists - and why everything we build starts with you being taken seriously.
